Photographing Gucci’s Landmark Presence in Detroit, MI

The Retail Archive had the privilege of photographing the new Gucci store in Detroit, MI, a significant milestone in the city's ongoing revitalization. This new store, located in the historic L.B. King and Co. Building at 1274 Library St - a landmark in downtown Detroit, required an exterior untouched by modern modifications. Gucci's design team masterfully crafted an interior that harmoniously mirrors the building's classic architectural features, blending the old with the new.

Our team faced unexpected challenges, with last-minute delays pushing the shoot back a day. Despite this, we adapted swiftly, ensuring our stay was extended to capture every intricate detail. The seamless design inside the store, echoing the building's historic character, showcases Gucci's commitment to preserving Detroit's architectural heritage while bringing luxury retail to the heart of the city.
